Overview

Born 1982 in Frederikshavn, Denmark
Lives and works in Skælskør, Denmark

Ditte Ejlerskov is a Danish visual artist, working within the field of painting and digital art. Ejlerskov has studied at The Funen Art Academy, The Cooper Union School of Art in New York as well as Kunsthögskolan in Malmö, which she graduated from in 2009. Ditte Ejlerskov’s earlier work draws inspiration from mainstream culture and politics, while her recent work focuses on the more formal aspects of her practice, for example represented in her series of large-format hand-painted colour gradients, which works as a form of chromotherapy.

Alongside these, Ejlerskov also works within the realm of NFTs and virtual sculptures, which entail a new way of thinking about ownership. Her recent NFT is a “global public sculpture” licensed to the public domain. By enabling wide access to the source files, the work gains a life of its own in our shared digital space.  This format disarrange the traditional understanding of ownership. Her other NFTs are more classic in the sense that they are contracted as 1/1s – unique art works.

Ditte Ejlerskov has exhibited at a number of institutions, including Malmö Konsthall, Malmö Konsthall, Röda Sten Konsthall, Kristianstad Art Museum, Kristiansand Kunsthall, Aarhus Kunstbygning, Kunsten Museum of Modern Art, Arken, Den Frie Udstillingsbygning and Kunsthal Charlottenborg. She has also exhibited at Bonn Art Museum in Germany, MASP in Sao Paulo, Cneai in Chatou in France and Amos Anderson Art Museum in Helsinki, Finland as well as in Spain at CCA Andratx. Her work belongs to a number of institutions and private collections internationally.
